Completed Project: Littlejohn Farmland - 40 Acres - 2006-2007 During the last
two years, Friends of the Fields effectively doubled the acreage
of farmland placed under agricultural conservation
easements—from 74 acres in the organization’s first six years,
to 151 acres now. Littlejohn Farmland - 40 Acres - 2006-2007 Friends of the Fields Board President Jim Aldrich and Treasurer Robert Caldwell successfully applied for two separate grants to the Washington State Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation (IAC) to protect two parcels. The first grant of $750,000 for a 40-acre piece of cropland owned by Bill and Esther Littlejohn, was matched entirely by the Littlejohns, and the easement was completed in 2007. Currently, this farmland is leased to farmer Troy Smith who raises seed crops or hay on it. Please join us to preserve Finn Hall Farm. Make a contribution to Friends of the Fields today. 151 total acres of productive farmland protected in perpetuity! |
