The farms in the Dungeness Valley—nestled between
the majestic Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca—are
flourishing. The region’s rich fertile soil, abundant water supply,
and mild climate guarantee the only year-round growing season in
Washington State.
Only two hours from Seattle by ferry, the bounty made possible by
these farms crosses Puget Sound regularly and is sold in Seattle
area farmers’ markets, PCC Natural Markets, Fred Meyer and other
stores in our region.
Residential development is replacing farmland at the rate of 1,000
acres every year. And, once developed, the land is gone
