Advisory Board: Ben Smith

Born in Port Angeles, Washington, Ben was raised on a large commercial dairy farm in Sequim.  He graduated from Sequim High School in 1984 and studied in Finland for one year before returning to Seattle and receiving a Bachelors degree in Nursing from the University of Washington. He worked at Providence Hospital in Seattle on a cardiac unit for two years before returning to the family farm and beginning a farming partnership with his father Gary and brother Troy.

Ben learned the dairy business from the ground up including animal care, horticulture, mechanics and business. He has full management responsibility for the dairy livestock portion of the business with approximately 750 head.  His responsibilities include animal care, milk production, employee management, and accounting.
